Friday, June 9th
Transforming Worship

The theme of the 207th Annual Meeting was "Transforming Worship," which meant that the Meeting planners worked to de-emphasize the "business" of the Meeting, and worked to emphasize how worship can both be transformed and be transforming.

Both Friday and Saturday began and ended with worship in widely varying styles, and Saturday's workshops focused mainly on topics related to worship.

On Friday morning, delegates could choose between three worship services: one in the Costa Rican Tradition, led by Lisa and Cesar DePaz, new church start pastors of the Hispanic Community Church, UCC of Lowell and the Hispanic Community Church, UCC, of Boston; one in the African American Tradition, led by Wanda Harris-Watkins, pastor of Pakachoag Church in Auburn; and one in the Country/Blue Grass Tradition, led by Liz and Matt Boulton, pastors of Hope Church in Jamaica Plain.

On Friday evening, the leaders from the three morning worship services joined together for a rousing, blended service embracing music from all of their worship styles.
