| Conference Site Manager Diane Montgomery welcomes members to the newly renovated Edwards House. |
April/May 2006
The new look and feel of Edwards House has been applauded by many meeting and retreat attendees since the grand re-opening in September. Except for a few minor glitches involving the heating system, meetings have been running smoothly and guests have been pleasantly surprised with the way the construction turned out. Many people are booking additional meetings and church retreats, according to Site Manager, Diane Montgomery.
The meeting facility, located in Framingham, still has sleeping capacity for 28 persons for overnight retreats. Although the bedrooms are dormitory-style with single beds, two full bathrooms and one half-sized bathroom have been added to lighten the morning rush. According to Montgomery, the elevator has proved its usefulness when transporting bulky overnight bags, as well as providing a lift for the physically challenged. The back sun porch has been transformed into its own meeting space, “delighting those who enjoy a brightly lit room.” A new small meeting room adjacent to the dining room is requested by those who prefer a cozy, private setting.
Reservations have been brisk, so Montgomery advises calling early for meeting or retreat arrangements. For more info, contact Judy Anderson at (508) 875-5233, ext. 226 or andersonj@macucc.org.
