The Massachusetts Conference has recently welcomed new staff members after saying farewell to many dedicated employees who have retired or moved from the area.
“We’ve regretfully said good-bye to people with many years of experience, but I’m delighted with the new staff members we’ve found to carry on their work,” said Dawn Hammond, Associate Conference Minister for Policy and Finance.
Patricia Niness, Administrative Assistant for Stewardship, has re-placed Lynda McGarrahan-Blunt, who left at the end of October after a 12-year term. Ms. Niness has many years of experience as a systems engineer and analyst in the computer service industry, and more recently as an administrative assistant in a public school setting. She is a mem-ber of the United Parish of Upton.
The new Craigville Conference Center Director, Mary Woodbury, replaced Judy Perella who retired in early December after 28 years of service, including nine years as Director. Prior to taking on the Director job, Ms. Woodbury worked for fourteen years as Craigville’s Head of Housekeeping and in Reservations. She was selected after a national search, from a pool of over two dozen applicants.
Kimberly Mason, Administrative Assistant in the Western Area Office, has replaced Sandy Evans, who retired in December after 14 years. Ms. Mason is a newcomer to Massachusetts whose recent work experience includes marketing management for the United Methodist Publishing House in Nashville, Tennessee.
Long-time Registrar Ellie Kell retired in December after 30 years of service. Jane Clarke, Administrative Assistant in the Central Area Office, will be moving to the Framingham office to take over this role. Meanwhile, the Rev. Lee Atherton will be serving as Administrative Assistant in the Central Area beginning in mid-March.
Finally, Diane Feldman, longtime Administrative Assistant for Pilgrim Day Camp, left her position at the end of January. This position is being filled on a temporary basis between now and the summer camp season, with a permanent replacement to be sought in the fall.
