Twenty-five
people represented the Massachusetts Conference in the Boston AIDS Walk
in June, raising over $5,000 for the AIDS Action Committee.
Some members of the group started the day by gathering near the MDC
Hatch Shell for a brief worship service led by Wellesley College Chaplain
Patricia Walton, a member of First Congregational Church in Milford.
They then marched the 10-kilometer walk through Boston and Cambridge
behind a Conference banner created by Katrina Clinton, pastor of the
First Congregational Church in North Attleboro.
“We
enjoyed the fellowship and new friendship which developed,” said Willie
Sordillo, Administrative Assistant to the Minister and President and
delegation organizer.
“We were proud to walk behind the beautiful banner which the Rev. Katrina
Clinton made especially for this occasion, and proud to represent the
Massachusetts Conference,” Sordillo said.
