Northeast search to finish as Central gets underway

May, 2002

The Northeast Area Search Committee expects to present a candidate to the Board of Directors in early May.

“The committee received 20 very good quality profiles,” said Nancy S. Taylor, Minister and President. She said the committee interviewed five candidates and at press time was deciding on second interviews.

Last summer, the search committee decided to re-open the search process and re-form the committee after being unable to agree on a candidate.

Meanwhile, the Central Area is just beginning its search process, and is inviting people to submit names of potential candidates to take the place of former Area Minister Richard Sparrow.

Andrew Burr, senior pastor of the First Congregational Church in Worcester, has been chosen to chair that committee. Anyone with suggestions for candidates can contact Burr at (508) 752-4635 or at hartleysb@charter.net, or contact Associate for Administration Joanna Bickford at bickfordj@macucc.org or at (508) 875-5233.

In the Western Area, Peter Wells came on as Area Minister at the end of April, and Alan Macy finished his service as Interim Area Minister there.
