Controller/CFO - Part-time - Wellesley Hills

The Wellesley Hills Congregational Church is seeking a part-time Controller/CFO to:

  • oversee the church’s financial operations,
  • ensure proper management of the church’s financial resources,
  • deliver timely and accurate analyses of the church’s operating results and trends, and
  • provide advice and counsel with respect to the financial implications of decisions and strategies under consideration.
The successful candidate will be expected to build strong relationships with the congregation and other members of the church staff and to support the theology, spirit, ethics and style of the church.

This opportunity is ideal for the seasoned and tech-savvy controller/CFO interested in transitioning from a full-time senior management role to a part-time position offering continued intellectual and professional challenges, but with a more favorable work/life balance and greater job satisfaction.

This is a part time job – requiring approximately 10 hours per week, with seasonal fluctuations to accommodate the church’s budgeting process – and participation in evening meetings once or twice/month. This position also involves the performance of certain hands-on accounting tasks and supervision of a part-time bookkeeper, requiring some work to be performed onsite.
