Church Management Software
Introduction
In the spring of 2001, the Commission on Communication of
the Massachusetts Conference sent a survey to all Conference
churches asking about their use of church management software.
This survey was designed to update and expand upon a similar
survey conducted in 1997. The Commission would like to thank
the secretaries, administrators and pastors at the 157 churches
that responded to the survey.
Summary
Of the 157 churches responding, 140 reported
using computers for record-keeping. Just under half of those
(68) use software specifically designed for churches to keep
databases of their members and/or to keep financial records.
The three most popular packages were Church Windows,
Membership Plus and Church Data Master Plus,
the same three that were the most popular in the 1997.

28 of the 29 Church Windows users said they
would recommend the software to other churches. Many
said they found the software easy to use, and they praised
the manufacturer for good technical support. The most
common complaint was that reports are difficult to customize. |
