December 2007

This edition of Connections is focused on taking time out during the hectic "holi-daze" and how the staff at the MACUCC can bring new resources to your door and open up a world of possibilities for your Christian Education programs.

"So often when I hear of a new training program I say to myself: "Looks great but I just don't have time for this right now."  Luckily I found the time for EEYM and quickly discovered that I didn't have time NOT to do it.  At EEYM I found a valuable mixture of theory and practical advice that I was able to incorporate immediately into my ministry.  For tonight's meeting or next year's big "learning and serving trip" EEYM is the answer!"  Kevin Goldenbogen - ANTS 2007     Advent is the season of waiting for the birth of Emmanuel and the Good News.  The MACUCC brings you GOOD NEWS   - the waiting for Education for Effective Youth Ministry and Learning to Teach is over!  These wonderful training and equipping ministries of the conference both begin in January.   EEYM is designed for youth leaders and Learning to Teach is offered for educators, church school superintendents and coordinators.  Both programs are user friendly, hands-on, offering tools and resources for laity and clergy.  They are intended for the seasoned and as well as the beginner and will help keep ministry fresh and alive.

Come Ye Faithful to the newly established Christian Education and/ or Youth Ministry Communities of Practice!

There have been two facilitator trainings and groups in each association are now being formed.  Christian Education and /or Youth Ministry Communities of Practice are intended to support educators and youth workers serving in the MACUCC Conference providing them with networking, increased awareness of UCC resources, as well as effective and best practices of Christian education and youth ministry found throughout our local churches.   If you would like to participate and have not received an invitation from a Community of Practice facilitator, please contact Cindy Bolton at boltonc@macucc.org  or Elsa Marshall at elsa.marshall@gmail.com.
