Dear Friends:

The Restorative Justice Task Team of the Massachusetts Conference of the United Church of Christ is very pleased to welcome you to our pages of information and resources.  We hope these resources will help you learn more about the important ways we can all be in ministry together in promoting unity, understanding and justice within individual lives, congregations and communities throughout Massachusetts.

The Restorative Justice Task Team is composed of members of UCC churches and was formed in 1999 following the passage of the Resolution on Restorative Justice at the April bicentennial gathering of the delegates of the Conference in Worcester, Mass.  The full text of this resolution, a bulletin insert for you to download and distribute in your church, articles, a bibliography, and additional information on restorative justice can be found in the pages following.

Wouldn’t it be wonderful if every congregation within our Massachusetts Conference could find a special way of sharing in the struggle to reform the justice system and share in the shaping of a new system that renders justice through restorative and unifying actions that truly build community?  For ten years, the Restorative Justice Task Team has been striving to promote such actions and efforts within the Massachusetts Conference and to have our congregations be a driving force in the movement for a justice of restoration and promotion of peace and community.

Would you like to learn more about Restorative Justice and the Mass. Conference Restorative Justice Task Team?  We need you and we want to learn what additional resources could be helpful to you in your efforts to promote restorative justice.  We are eager to hear from you

          Grace and Peace,
