Additional Ways to Help a New Church Start
Beyond financial support, which is important, you can “loan” your gifts and talents to a help a new congregation begin. “To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good” (I Corinthians 12:7.) This could include:
- Serving as a greeter for a month.
- “Loaning” your musical skills.
- Praying each day for the new church start.
- Offering secretarial skills.
- Finding out if your church office can help with materials.
- Loaning or giving office equipment, paper, etc.
- Paying for a flyer or advertisement in a local paper.
- Visiting the new church often.
- Writing letters to first-time visitors, welcoming them to the new church.
- Bringing youth groups or other organizations to a worship service.
- Inviting the new church pastor to a gathering at your church.
- Give a weekend away to the new pastor for some renewal time.
- And many other ways limited only by your imagination.
