Additional Ways to Help a New Church Start

Beyond financial support, which is important, you can “loan” your gifts and talents to a help a new congregation begin.  “To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good” (I Corinthians 12:7.)  This could include: 

• Serving as a greeter for a month.
• “Loaning” your musical skills.
• Praying each day for the new church start.
• Offering secretarial skills.
• Finding out if your church office can help with materials.
• Loaning or giving office equipment, paper, etc.
• Paying for a flyer or advertisement in a local paper.
• Visiting the new church often.
• Writing letters to first-time visitors, welcoming them to the new church.
• Bringing youth groups or other organizations to a worship service.
• Inviting the new church pastor to a gathering at your church.
• Give a weekend away to the new pastor for some renewal time.
• And many other ways limited only by your imagination.
