Task Force
to End Homelessness
Families and individuals
across Massachusetts are struggling to make ends meet and
are becoming homeless in record numbers.
At Annual Meeting
2002, The Massachusetts Conference of the United Church of
Christ passed a Resolution to End Homelessness in Massachusetts.
Out of this call to action the Task Force to End Homelessness
was created with the mission to help families and individuals
who are without a home. We are called to work together with
other organizations and faith communities to help end this
crisis by providing direct services to those in need, while
at the same time helping to create the public will towards
ending homelessness rather than managing it.
Your congregation
can help those in need in several different areas:
Prevention
– Help those keep their homes by providing different
forms of assistance.
Direct
Service to the Homeless in Shelter - Volunteer
at a shelter to do yard work, serve meals, host a holiday
party, do an item drive for toiletries and other necessities.
Long
Term Solutions – Work within your community
to create change focused on ending this crisis rather than
managing it.
Ending homelessness in Massachusetts - It's possible and you can help!
