200th Annivesrsary Weekend at Second Congregational Church- Greenfield
Second Congregational Church in Greenfield, MA has the honor of celebrating our 200th
anniversary of serving a congregation in the heart of town. We are marking this milestone in many ways throughout the year and have already held several events. Upcoming:
Centering Prayer will start the day, leading into a Prayer Walk for a time of reflection and hopes for the future of how we are called to serve our community. All held in the sanctuary and a Pancake Breakfast will be served in the Parish Hall.
Sunday, September 24 10:00 to 2:00
Special Worship service with music, homecoming of current and past members, quilt presentation handmade by children of the church (with help from Master Quilter, Marjorie Reid), recognition of areas of service by members, carillon songs, and unveiling and distribution of a 130-page Commemorative book edited by member Susan Weeks. Following the service, lunch will be served, speaker on the history of meeting houses in Franklin County and dedication of permanent stone bench outdoors.
Sunday, November 12 3:00 One Light, Many Candles.
Multifatih service led by Rev. Betty Stookey and Noel Paul Stookey. A program of readings and music that reflect the diversity and integrity of individual faith while seeking a global spiritual community $20 ticket at door.
