Discovering God's Will Together: A Christian Spiritual Formation Retreat to

This overnight  retreat is intended for people in all stages on the spiritual path (clergy and lay).  Whether you feel like a beginner, or a long-time traveler, you will find nourishment here for your soul. 

Come to worship, to learn new spiritual practices and rediscover old ones, to sing and express yourself through the arts, to build community, to take Sabbath, and to play.  Choose from a number of activity options that will make your heart sing!  Dinner is included on Wednesday evening.  The retreat closes at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday and lodging at Miramar Retreat Center is included.

Costs:  $149.00 double occupancy      $169.00 single occupancy.  Register no later than April 15, 2017.

 As an ordained Christian minister in the United Church of Christ (UCC), Matt is also an author, spiritual coach, and retreat leader.  Matt is passionate about altering Christianity today into a spiritual tradition that models the unconditional love of God and the life and teachings of Jesus. The title of his upcoming book is “Giving Christianity back to Jesus.” Matt holds a number of part-time ministries.  In addition to being the part-time Protestant Chaplain at Brandeis, Matt serves part-time as the Program Director for Cooperative Metropolitan Ministries (CMM), an interfaith social action organization that also runs the Interfaith Youth Initiative program.  In addition, Matt  co-facilitates confirmation and adult spiritual formation retreats through the Mass. Conference UCC for youth and adults from across Massachusetts churches.

Susie AllenRev. Susie Allen is a spiritual director, organizational and leadership consultant, and retreat leader. As spiritual director, Susie offers on opportunity for individuals to meet one-on-one to explore the story of their life’s longings and experiences in a spiritual context. Rev. Allen co-leads the Soul of Leadership Program, in partnership with Shalem Institute for Spiritual Formation, and the organization, Executive Soul. The 18-month program guides and supports leaders from businesses, non-profits, churches, health care, etc., on a journey of transformation as they integrate leadership skills and contemplative practices into their lives. She offers spiritual direction and soul care programs for people affected by cancer at The Virginia Thurston Healing Garden in Harvard, MA.
