On Saturday, January 7th the Congregational Church of Topsfield and the local social action group H.U.G.S. (Hands Up for Gun Safety) will be hosting a community event entitled: “Guns and the Realm of God: A Community Conversation”. 

Reverend Matthew Crebbin, Senior Minister of the Congregational Church of Newtown, CT will provide the keynote address.  Reverend Crebbin will share what he has learned from those who have been affected directly by gun violence.  Since the tragedy of the shooting at the Sandy Hook Elementary School four years ago (12/14/12), he has worked extensively promoting understanding and compassion between diverse groups of people to reduce gun violence in all communities.
 
Following Reverend Crebbin’s address, a lunch will be provided where we will have the opportunity to engage in a panel discussion addressing various topics of gun violence prevention.  This event, which will be held in the Emerson Center Fellowship Hall on 9 East Common Street, Topsfield, MA will begin at 10:00am and end at 12:30 pm.  Please join us and learn how you can have your voice heard to promote gun safety.  If you have questions, please email: hugscoalition@gmail.com.
