Overview of Interfaith Action and Ecumenism

Before the United Church of Christ was formed, the ecumenical vision “that they may all be one” was animating our vision. Since our formation, ecumenism has been central to the identity and the activity of United Church of Christ. In recent years, the UCC – and the Mass Conference in particular – has promoted interfaith understanding and dialogue as a crucial expression of our faithfulness.

The Conference's work in this area is supported by the Commission for Ecumenism, which seeks to support churches, pastors and members as they live out these important ministries in their communities.

For more information on the ecumenical and interfaith activities of the Commission, contact Marisa Brown-Ludwig, Chair.

Minister and President Jim Antal encourages you to join him in signing this petition:

“To Bigotry No Sanction, to Persecution No Assistance”
A Call to Citizens, Elected Officials, Journalists and Religious Communities to End the Current Wave of Fear and Bigotry Against Islam

The petition was drafted by Old South Church of Boston Senior Pastor Nancy Taylor and Andover Newton Theological School President Nick Carter (among others) and has been signed by dozens of UCC pastors and thousands of others, and embraced by the Greater Boston Interfaith Organization.
