Michael Rydberg, of the First Congregational Church in Plymouth has been named the 2005 Outstanding Church Educator. According to Carl McDonald, Associate for Youth and Christian Education Ministries, Rydberg significantly contributed to the overall advancement of Christian Education through leadership development, creative teaching and innovative programming. Benn Grover, assistant teacher for Rydeberg’s class, commented that “Mike is adored by the congregation, by old and youth alike. It’s not because he’s a teacher or advisor or because he’s well versed in the Bible, or even because he does everything for the church he has the ability to do. Mike is loved because, after having met him, you realize that without even knowing it, he has instilled upon you the level of love, devotion and humility you wish you could reach.”
