Northeast Area search to re-open

July/August, 2001

The search for a Northeast Area Minister is being extended for another year and the committee being reconstituted, after the former committee was unable to agree on a candidate.

“This is a process just like what any local church goes through, and sometimes a search committee cannot find ‘the one,’” said Interim Conference Minister and President Erwin Bode.

A new search committee is being formed, including those members from the previous committee who wish to continue on. The hope is that a candidate will be presented to the Board of Directors next May.

“The good news is that quite a few more candidates have expressed interest who were not available a year ago,” Bode said.

Interim Northeast Area Minister Marilyn Rossier will continue to serve during the extended search.
