The Conference Board of Directors approved the allocation of $102,000 for the Still Speaking Initiative at its March meeting. The allocation drew upon two small funds that can be used for special projects at the discretion of the Board of Directors, as well as some budgeted amounts not used in 2003.
Eleven other United Church of Christ Conferences have already approved contributions to the project, and the rest are in the process of determining how much they can give. The Still Speaking project is an ambitious plan to build a better sense of identity and stronger stewardship across the whole UCC.
