October/November 2005
Pastors and lay teams are invited to attend a special Pastoral Excellence Program event to be held Monday, October 24, 2005, at Wellesley (Village) Congregational Church, UCC.
Ron Heifetz, founding director of the Center for Public Leadership at Harvard’s John F. Kennedy School of Government, will present a new model of leadership – adaptive leadership – that recognizes the internal and external conflicts in our worlds and offers a different approach for leading.
“It’s romantic and exciting to think of leadership as all inspiration, decisive action, and rich rewards, but leading requires taking risks,” says Heifetz. “The greatest companies in the world are driven by those who aren’t afraid to lead their colleagues into uncharted territory and spear them onto greater success.”
This event is sponsored by the
Pastoral Excellence Program (funded
by the Lilly Endowment) of the
MACUCC and made possible through
contributions to Our Church’s Wider
Mission and Fellowship Dues. For
