WOW! Last night was the opening worship. I hear that the streaming feed may have been down, and if so, some of you missed a great worship. Songs in many languages, testimony from three great preachers of different styles, all starting Synod on the right note.
The theme here is “Imagine What’s Possible”, and the symbol of sand will be used throughout. Ben Guess echoed this very well in his speech earlier in the day. He highlighted something that the Metropolitan Boston Association (MBA) has been talking about for a few months now. The landscape of ministry is changing, and we (as Christians, and as the UCC) need to figure out how to be Christian and minister as a Christian in this changing landscape, or in these “shifting sands”. It is a very apt metaphor, wonderfully presented.
Looking forward now to Suncoast Saturday!
