7:00 – 8:00 PM Eastern
Leader: Debbie Gline Allen
Fostering intergenerational relationships seems to be "the latest thing” among Christian educators and other congregational leaders. Is it just another passing fad or is there something more foundational about paying attention to relationships? How do relationships actually play out in a congregational setting? And what are the best ways to bring the generations together when they’ve been separated in our churches for so many decades? This webinar will look at current research related to the relationship between intergenerational ministries and child/teen commitment to a faith community well into adulthood. Practical resources and ideas will also be shared.
Debbie Gline Allen is the Consultant for Christian Education & Youth Ministry for the Massachusetts Conference, United Church of Christ. She has served as the Minister of Christian Formation at five different congregations over the past 35 years, as well as in the New Hampshire and Massachusetts UCC Conferences in a wide variety of Christian education and formation ministries. She has written for three national curriculum resources as well as having created materials for local outdoor ministries programs. Debbie lives in Derry, New Hampshire with her spouse, two sons, and beloved cat.
