Crisis management and emergency preparedness have become a new reality for schools and work places. Churches have an imperative to respond in a timely manner and to provide appropriate care in various crisis situations. An effective first response can reduce spiritual and emotional stress and lead to better management of a spiritual and emotional crisis. In this webinar, we will learn pastoral assessment and appropriate “spiritual and emotional first aid.”
Rev. Dr. Penny Gadzini is Pastor of the Babylon United Methodist Church in NY. She has years of experience teaching Pastoral Care in the Pastoral Care Specialist Training Program and the Mercer School for Ministry. Penny has also led many short term training programs for local churches. She trained to be a Pastoral Psychotherapist at the Blanton-Peale Graduate Institute, holds a D. Min. from Andover Newton Theological School, an M. Div. From Union Theological Seminary, and is the Skipper of Sea Scout Ship 270.
Rev. Dr. Joshua Jong is Pastor of the First Presbyterian Church of New Hyde Park, NY. He holds a D. Min. from the New York Theological Seminary and completed Ph.D. Studies in Counseling Psychology and Religion from Boston University. Jong interned at Danielsen Institute and the Center for Anxiety Related Disorder at Boston University. He is a Pastoral Psychotherapist and longtime Pastoral Care Specialist Trainer.
