“Icon of the Resurrection”
Dr. Kyriaki FitzGerald
Primarily from an Eastern Christian spiritual perspective, this year’s retreat will engage three dimensions of Pascha (the Greek & Hebrew term for the Passover). With the Byzantine icon of the Resurrection (also known as the “Descent into Hell/Hades” icon) as the reference point, each session of the day will focus on theological, spiritual and personal themes, respectively. Each session will be divided into three sections. The Eastern Christian spiritual understanding regarding the theme, a personal engagement by the retreat speaker from her own life-experience, and an invitation to group members to reflect and respond from their experience.
