Keynote Address: "Understanding Post Traumatic Growth After a Disaster", by Rev. Christina Belogour
Seminar participants will be inroduced to "post traumatic growth" or PTG. The research on PTG ofers a tremendous resource of hope for trauma and disaster. What is post traumatic growth? What are its characteristics? How is PTG different from resilience? What are some of the obstacles to PTG? How does PTG happen? In better understanding post traumatic growth, trauma and disaster workers will have a greater resource available to them to care for the communities they serve.
Rev. Belogour holds both her M.Div and her doctorate in pastoral psychology from Boston University. She has taught numerous psychology courses at Bay Path University. Her seminar topics have focused on public speaking skills, clergy self-care, and trauma work. She is most recently the author of children's books and is currently serving as a pastoral counselor in private practice in Wellesley, MA.
Registration is $25, which includes lunch and free parking. There are limited seats available, so register today! Registration ends April 6 or when seats are filled. Sponsored by the MACUCC Disaster Resource and Response Team.
