Pastors, Christian Educators, Youth Group Directors, and those who interact with adolescents will appreciate Youth Mental Health First Aid.  This training provides the tools to help and adolescent or young adult in crisis, including crisis precipitated by a traumatic life event or disaster.  Learn about common mental health challenges for youth and leave with a 5-step action plan for how to help young people in both crisis and non-crisis situations.  Topics covered include anxiety, depression, substance use, disorders in which psychosis may occur, disruptive behavior disorders (including AD/HD) and eating disorders.

About the Presenter:  Kelly Viera is a professionally licensed School Social Worker/School Adjustment Counselor in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.  She has over 15 years of experience in public education and a clinical background in community mental health and corrections.  She holds a Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology and is working towards an advanced degree as an Educational Specialist in Counseling.

$35.00 includes training, materials, certification and lunch.  Limited to 30 participants.  (When it gets filled up, you may email Patti Babcock to be placed on a waiting list at babcockp@macucc.org.)

Anyone, anywhere can be the one to make a difference in the life of someone with a mental health or substance use challenge - if they know what to do and what to say.
