Associate Conference Minister Wendy Vander Hart extends leave

Associate Conference Minister The Rev. Wendy Vander Hart sent this email out to churches, clergy and Association leaders in the Andover, Essex and Metropolitan Boston Associations on Aug. 28: If you need assistance during this time and would normally call on Wendy, please contact Colin Loggins at and he will direct your inquiry to the appropriate person.

Dear friends in Christ,

Blessings to you this day.

I write today with some news. While on sabbatical in late July and traveling in Europe with my spouse and parents, we encountered a medical emergency for my mother. The diagnosis of a brain tumor pre-empted those travel plans and also bring future treatment demands into view.

With the approval of the Conference Board of Directors and in deep consultation with Minister and President Jim Antal I have requested that the remaining three weeks of sabbatical time scheduled to be utilized in the summer of 2015 be applied immediately. This will allow me some time to contribute to our family's response to this situation.

I will return to the office on September 24. As things become clearer on this medical sojourn, and as MACUCC personnel policies allow, I may take additional days away from the office. I am grateful to colleagues who already have covered this time and who are willing to step-in further to make this possible. Thank you for your understanding and prayers in this time.

Peace, Wendy
