As testimony to our kinship in Christ and the Covenant that binds us one to another, we list below the names of those ministers known to us who have died recently. At one time or another they served in the Massachusetts Conference of the United Church of Christ.

The Rev. Mr. Edward J. Bernard passed away on Thursday, January 4, 2017.  Edd is survived by his wife Peg Bernard, his sister Judy Haglof, his children Gina Bernard, Katie Brownlee, Liz Bernard, James Bernard, and 5 step children, 12 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren. Ms. Rose Levonian died on Monday, January 2, 2017.  Rose is formerly from Framingham and remembered fondly from when she worked at the Massachuetts Conference managing the camping programs and Craigville.  A memorial service was held on Sunday, January 8, 2017, 2:00pm at Plymouth Church, 87 Edgell Road in Framingham. The Rev. Mr. Serge F. Hummon

The Rev. Mr. Serge Floyd Hummon passed away in his sleep at the age of 99, on December 29, 2016 in Holden, Massachusetts.  He is survived by his son David; his daughters-in-law, Kathleen and Mary; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife of 67 years, Doris Taylor Hummon, and his son, Norman Hummon.
